The old bridge between Jamestown and Newport on April 18 and before April 18. Aren't you glad you weren't in one of the two boats in the picture on the wrong day?

The old bridge, decayed and beyond repair, is being demolished in stages. The rubble is to be used to create artificial reefs in Rhode Island Sound and off Block Island. So the next time you sail into Narragansett Bay and wonder why it looks different remember this picture.
