Each participant is asked to make a donation of the above amount towards the charities. This can be fund-raised and both MAST and Sail Training Ireland can advise on fundraising activities and supports. The nominating youth organisations should support this fundraising effort.

"This is truly the Adventure of a Lifetime. A life changing experience for all involved and a chance not to be missed. The programme of activities on board are designed to develop confidence, interaction skills, motivation and a work ethos. At the very least, it will be an excellent experience to include on your CV...at the most, it could lead to a career in the maritime industries. Trainees will meet members of the port, Naval and shipping industries and learn about opportunities.
They will learn how they can enjoy applying themselves in a challenging environment. They will make new friends for life from lots of different places." Michael Byrne, Manager, Sail Training Ireland.
